Spanish for Specific Purposes
You will find many different programs. Besides our regular Spanish courses we also offer Spanish courses for specific purposes. Our programs include: Medical Spanish, Legal Spanish, Business Spanish, Spanish for Missionaries and Religious Organizations, and Spanish for Teachers.
The Spanish language has become more and more important to people in the U.S. According to an American statistic in the year 2004, one in eight residents are of Hispanic origin, or 14.06 % of the population.
The Spanish courses with emphasis on professional vocabulary are designed for specific professional needs and enable students to deal with basic terminology up to high professional details. If you are a doctor, engineer, lawyer, or deal with similar fields in your profession, these courses will open the door to your work world equipped with the linguistic ability you need! The courses are offered in all language levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced, superior). The course materials are carefully designed to meet the requirements of physicians, nurses, and health care workers who treat and communicate with Spanish speakers.
Spanish for Teachers
Our Partner School offers the SPANISH FOR TEACHERS COURSE in San José, Costa Rica, in order to meet the special language needs of teachers working with Spanish-speaking students. All Teachers’ Courses are designed so that participants benefit from intensive Spanish language study, contacts to local educational institutions, and lectures on topics relevant to the field. These contacts enable you to get insights in the Costa Rican and Latin American school system and practice your gained knowledge.
In four to six lessons daily you will start with general Spanish and vocabulary. After the first part of the course we continue with terminology. The course ends up with the specified part on your individual chosen section.
A. General Spanish language (grammar, vocabulary)
B. Procurement of terminology
C. Content according to individual needs, after consultation and agreement with participant e.g.:
- Communication with Spanish-speaking students
- Parent meetings
- The Costa Rican and Latin American school system
- Pedagogical material
- Contents of subjects (e.g. Mathematics, geography)
D. Optional content: Visits to local schools.
Medical Spanish

Our Partner School offers MEDICAL SPANISH COURSES in San José, Costa Rica, in order to meet the special language needs of medical professionals working in bilingual environments. Each specialized Spanish course includes intensive language study, visits to local hospitals/clinics, as well as, lectures on topics relevant to the field. These visits enable you to get in contact with your Costa Rican colleagues and to practice your gained knowledge.
In four to six lessons daily you will start with general Spanish and vocabulary. After the first part of the course you continue with the medical terminology. The course ends with a specified concentration on your individual chosen section:
A. General Spanish language (grammar, vocabulary)
B. Procurement of terminology
C. Content according to individual needs, after consultation and agreement with participant e.g.:
- Illnesses and symptoms
- Doctor-patient-conversation (anamnesis)
- The physical exam
- Exams for the incorporations in the National Chamber of Physicians
D. Optional content: visits to local hospitals or clinics
Legal Spanish
Our Partner School offers LEGAL SPANISH COURSES in San José, Costa Rica, in order to meet the special language needs of legal professionals working in bilingual environments, like lawyers, judges, personnel of law firms, etc. Each specialized Spanish course includes intensive language study, contacts to local lawyers, and visits to courts, as well as, lectures on topics relevant to the field. These contacts enable you to get insights into Costa Rican legal life and to practice your gained knowledge.
In four to six lessons daily you will start with general Spanish and vocabulary. After the first part of the course you continue with legal terminology. The course ends with a specified concentration on your individual chosen section.

- Legal aid
- Commercial law
- Notary service
- Immigration

Many American companies maintain relationships with Spanish speaking partners or have a subsidiary in a Latin American country. For that reason, our Partner School offers BUSINESS SPANISH COURSES in San José, Costa Rica, in order to meet the special language needs of businessman/women working in bilingual environments. In each specialized Spanish course participants’ benefit from intensive Spanish language study, contacts to local companies or institutions, as well as, lectures on topics relevant to the field. These contacts enable you to get insights into Latin American companies, especially Costa Rican ones, and practice your gained knowledge.
The course materials are carefully designed to meet the requirements of businessmen/women and professionals who need to increase their business vocabulary.
In four to six lessons daily you will start with general Spanish and vocabulary. After the first part of the course you continue with business terminology. The course ends with a specified concentration on your individual chosen section.

Our Partner School offers SPANISH COURSES FOR MISSIONARIES AND RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS in San José, Costa Rica, in order to meet the special language needs in this professional field. Each specialized Spanish course includes intensive language study, contacts to local institutions, and lectures on topics relevant to the field. These contacts enable you to get insights into Costa Rican religious life and practice your gained knowledge.
The course materials are carefully designed to meet the requirements of professionals working for international missions and all of those with a need to increase their missionary vocabulary.
In four to six lessons daily you will first start with general Spanish and vocabulary. After this first part of the course you continue with religious terminology. The course ends with a specified concentration on your individual chosen section.
A. General Spanish language (grammar, vocabulary)
B. Procurement of terminology
C. Content according to individual needs, after consultation and agreement with participant e.g.:
- Religious themes
- Social problems in Costa Rica and Latin America
- Tasks of missionaries
- Service at the church and other communities in the world
