There are several cities that are easy to reach from Puerto Vallarta. For those interested in venturing outside the Vallarta area, our Partner School will be more than happy to organize weekend excursions for you.
- Guadalajara
The second largest city in Mexico, Guadalajara is considered the "most Mexican of all Mexican cities". It is the home of some of Mexico's most inspiring 16th century architecture and is a city of monuments, parks and flowers, fountains and tree lined avenues. Guadalajara is known as the birthplace of Mariachi music and is also the home of the Mexican hat dance. During the weekend visit, you will have the opportunity to tour the historic center including the Cathedral, Government Palace, Degollado Theatre, Regional Museum, Rotonda de los Hombres Ilustres, Plaza de La Liberacion, Cabanas Cultural Institute, Libertad Market and Plaza de los Mariachis. Additionally, you will visit Zapopan which although a separate city contains many of Guadalajara's attractions.
- San Sebastian
- Mascota
- Talpa
- Tequila

This adventure takes you through the jungle, beside mountain streams and allows you the spectacular scenery of isolated valleys and the Pacific Ocean. Your guide points our and identifies native plants, birds and wildlife for you, so you can increase your vocabulary in a lovely, natural setting.
Horseback Riding There are quite a few ranches near Puerto Vallarta that offer horseback riding. Whether you wish a quiet ride on the beach or a more adventurous trail ride in the mountains, you can enjoy this activity in Vallarta.
Golf Vallarta is a premier golf destination boasting 7 challenging courses.
Art Walk Old Town Art Walk is one of the most popular occasions of the year. From October thru April, twelve art galleries invite you to join them for free cocktail displays. These occur every other Wednesday from 6-10 pm. The exhibitions give you the opportunity to view the art available in Vallarta. It also allows you to actually meet the artists and see their new works. A treat for any art lover, the Art Walk is fun, especially for people who are attempting to find their own artistic talent.
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling Although Vallarta may not be famous for diving, it really offers some excellent diving spots including Los Arcos. Even if you are an experienced diver or you're simply interested in acquiring your scuba certification, Vallarta offers you a great diving experience. Snorkelling is also available at quite a few locations (the best being found at Los Arcos).
Boat Tours If you are mesmerized by the thought of cruising the ocean, seeking a fantastic view of a dramatic coastline, exploring the views of the Bay, or visiting isolated coves, Vallarta offers numerous boat tours to satisfy you interests and your needs.
