Our partner school's main office is located in Quito, which is the second highest capital in the world (elevation 2,850m). The school is located in the heart of Quito's commercial-tourist district (New Town), easily accessed by all major public transportation routes including bus and trolley lines. It is surrounded by many restaurants, 5 star hotels, shops, stores, bars, travel agencies and tourist attractions. With their sizable facilities, they can serve an average of 30-40 students in Quito per week. You can choose to study between 4-7 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Classes can be scheduled in the morning from 8:30-12:30, or in the afternoon from 1:30-5:30 p.m.
Quito Interactive and Cultural Program
This program is designed to show you all the best that Quito has to offer. You will take Spanish lessons in the morning and then have three hours to practice your Spanish in real life situations. With your teacher as your tour guide, you and your classmates will visit virtually all of the most amazing sites around the city. In order for you to have a better idea of all that this program offers, a sample itinerary is listed below:
Day One:
Visit Colonial Quito.
Visit El Panecillo and take a walk through La Plaza de la Independencia, Palacio de Gobierno, La Catedral, El Sagrario, La Compania, San Francisco and Santo Domingo.
Day Two:
Visit the Museo del Banco Central featuring La Sala de Arqueología, La Sala de Oro, La Sala de Arte Colonial, as well as religious and contemporary art and archaeological pieces.
Day Three:
Museo de San Diego
See religious art, el Cristo de 3 expresiones, The Legend of Padre Almeida, the rock door that weighs a ton, colonial era paintings that were discovered 20 years ago, bedrooms and washrooms typical of the colonial era.
Day Four:
Museo Amazónico
Learn about diverse indigenous clothing. See crowns of feathers worn by the chiefs and shamans. Discover different methods of hunting, fishing and navigation, various types of indigenous musical instruments, animals common to the jungle and view a photography display of the impact on petroleum companies in indigenous territory.
Day Five:
Middle of the World.
Visit the INTI-ÑAN Museum, entrance to the Monument of the Middle of the World, Miniature Quito, stores and arts and crafts.
