Learn Spanish in Patagonia (Bariloche | Ushuaia)

Bariloche, Argentina - Region of Patagonia

The Patagonia region of Argentina is in the southern part of the country. The capital of this region is Bariloche Town (also known by its full name of San Carlos de Bariloche), one of the most well-known tourist resorts in Argentina. Located 770 meters above sea level in a mountainous area, Bariloche Town provides a wide variety of seasonal activities that attract travelers from all over the world. In the winter, the area boasts excellent skiing and snow sports, including what is considered the top ski resort in South America - Cerro Catedral. In the spring, many come to the region to hike through the beautiful mountain landscapes filled with colorful wild flowers. Spring weather is warm in the afternoons while still quite chilly at night. In the summer, things warm up and water sports at the area lakes and rivers are the popular draw, in addition to hiking in the mountains. When fall begins, the beautiful foliage changing colors is reason enough to visit the area. At the end of autumn, the snow starts to fall and the snow sports season begins again. Because Bariloche Town sits along the shores of an expansive lake called Nahuel Huapi and at the slopes of nearby mountains, it is a year-round scenic playground for citizens of Argentina and the rest of the world.
