Extra Curricular Activities

Learn Spanish, meet interesting people, and enjoy a fun filled vacation!

In addition to the classroom instruction, you can enjoy several activities after classes. From cultural activities to pure leisure, there is always something for everyone at Playa del Carmen!

Cooking

At our Partner School Mexican cooking classes are available for an additional fee ($5 to $10 USD), depending on the ingredients. Sign up to this activity and learn the secrets to the Mexican cuisine, plus enjoy a fine meal afterwards! Load of laughter and fun are free.

Salsa

Salsa lessons are also available at the school for an additional fee ($5 USD), and require a certain number of participants, so make sure to sign up in advance. No previous experience is required, so whether you are a beginning or advanced student, there is always the fun of moving your body to the beat.

Sailing

The Caribbean's azure skies and aquamarine waters are calling out to you! We can arrange sailing with a local company near the school after classes upon request and for an additional fee. Imagine the soft breeze in your hair, calm waves, and a nice tan under the sun!

Diving

Look at the amazing ocean life under the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean! Diving classes can also be arranged upon request with a local school upon request, and for an additional fee. Classes are available for beginner to advanced divers, and for learners ages 10 and up. There is a lot to explore, and you might even find some ancient underwater treasures!

Yoga

Enjoy yoga classes and get to know how to let go and relax your body and mind in this wonderful surrounding, and the easy-going Mexican life style. Yoga classes are arranged at a local fitness club for an additional $8 US dollar fee, and require a certain number of participants so make sure to sign up to this activity in advance.

Outings and Excursions

In addition to the Spanish instruction we can arrange weekday after school outings and weekend tours to Historical and archaeological places of interest surrounding the Yucatan Peninsula for an additional fee. Among these activities are:

• Tequila/Mezcal tasting
• Snorkeling at a local Cenote, or in Akumal with sea Turtles
• Night outings to fine restaurants
• Cocktail night
• Mayan Ruins of Chichen-Itza, Tulum, Coba, and more!
