Cultural Activities
To enhance your Spanish learning, cultural activities take place on certain weekdays which you are welcome to join in.
These activities may be offered for an additional fee, and are a great way to complement your Spanish learning!
Mexican Cooking - Learn the unique way to cook a Mexican meal and enjoy it afterwards! Activity takes place Fridays
at 2 PM. This activity takes place at the school's kitchen, and it is open for everybody. The cost of this activity
is $10 USD students / $14 USD visitors. Minimum number of participants is required, so sign up in advance.
Salsa Dancing - Truly the way to learn new moves and polish old ones! Activity takes place Thursdays from
2 to 3 PM at the school. Cost of this activity is $10 USD per class, and a minimum number of 3 participants is
required, so sign up a few days ahead.
Cultural Cafe - Every Wednesday at 7:30 PM this activity takes place at a different cafe, restaurant or bar.
Students are notified where the next meeting will take place, and everybody is welcome to participate. This
activity enables students to interact with their teachers in a more informal way, plus meet other locals to
practice their Spanish. Activity is free, but you are responsible of paying for your own food and drinks.
Volunteering - Volunteer work can be arranged at homeless shelters, with street children, and at local
health clinics. Please inquire for more information.
Old Town Art Walk - From October through April, enjoy an open-aired art gallery at the Puerto Vallarta
Malecon from 6 to 10 PM
Tours and Excursions
There are several cities that are easy to reach from Puerto Vallarta. For those interested in venturing outside
the Vallarta area, our Partner School staff will be more than happy to organize weekend excursions for you.
Among the many activities you can enjoy are the following:
- Cultural city tour to Guadalajara (considered "most Mexican of all Mexican cities", birth place of mariachi
music!)
- Tours to Vallarta's surrounding towns of San Sebastian, Mascota, Talpa, and Tequila
- Adventure tours: Hiking trough Sierra Madre, Canopy and zip lining, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Jeep,
Dune Buggies, Horse back riding, and more.
- Water sports and activities: Scuba diving, fishing and sailing, snorkelling, kayaking, surfing, parasailing,
and whale watching (December through March)
